Bet You Didn't Know the Word for That!

The term of the day today is sphenopalatine ganglioneuralgia. This is the scientific term for “brain freeze,” that awful feeling in your head when you eat or drink something cold too quickly.
The cold treat Slurpee turns 44 this month. You can celebrate the Slurpee’s birthday with a free 7-11 ounce cup, courtesy of participating 7-11 stores on—drum roll please—July 11th. Remember to sip your Slurpee slowly so you can avoid sphenopalatine ganglioneuralgia!
Speaking of sphenopalatine ganglioneuralgia, don’t forget to stop by the North Oak library to cool off during these hot days. We have lots of great books and movies to enjoy while sipping on your Slurpee.
