Being Crafty
May 10, 2011
I host our branch’s Craft Time for Preschoolers the fourth Friday of each month at 10:00 a.m. We make three crafts each month. People ask me where I get the ideas for the crafts. Guess what? BOOKS!
There are a lot of web sites out there that have a lot of great craft ideas, but I prefer to thumb through our crafting books. Ones like The Colossal Book of Crafts for Kids & Their Families by Phyllis Fiarotta, Arts and Crafts: Preschool/Kindergarten by Karen Brudnak, or Preschool Arts & Crafts by Grace Jasmine can get you started.
I like to recycle items like small boxes, egg cartons, and toilet paper or paper towel tubes. One of my favorite craft books for items like these is Look What You Can Make with Dozens of Household Items by Kathy Ross.
So if you need some craft ideas, I suggest thumbing through our craft books. If you prefer, just come to our Craft Time for Preschoolers or our Craft Time for Grade Schoolers (which meets one Saturday a month at 11:00 a.m.) and have fun with the crafts. We have already researched and prepared the necessary materials.
