Beginning Bridge Lessons
August 29, 2011
Believe it or not, there was a time when television only had three channels, phones had cords, and there was no DVRing our favorite American Idol episodes, but people still got together to socialize (even without Facebook). To entertain themselves, friends and families turned to card games, and one of those games was Bridge. From royal palaces to rustic pubs, Bridge has been played since the 16th century. Now, you can learn how to play too!
Starting in September, the Colbern Road Branch is hosting Beginning Bridge Lessons For Teens and Adults as a four week class where you can learn the basics. Kathy Rolfe will introduce you to taking tricks, the bidding language, various suits, and opening bids and responses. So, if you’re looking for a new way to add interest and bring a little competition to "boring TV night," sign up for Beginning Bridge Lessons today!
