Be Ready for the ACT Test
August 30, 2013
How many of you are starting to consider taking the ACT for college? As a junior or senior in high school, many teens start wondering when they should take the ACT or SAT test. MCPL is offering a free ACT Practice Test at the Smithville Branch at 9:30 a.m. and the Raytown Branch at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7. This test will allow students to become more familiar with the math, science reasoning, english, and reading portions of the test. It will also allow them to see how they may score on the actual ACT, or see what areas on the test they can improve on before they actually take it. Also, on Saturday, September 28 at 10:00 a.m., the Platte City Branch will be having a seminar called ACT: Test Strategies to Raise Your Score. In October, the Riverside, Dearborn, Blue Springs North, and Antioch Branches will be hosting similar programs. Call your closest branch today for details or to sign-up.
The Library also offers resources for test preparation for ACT and SAT tests. We have many books, such as ACT Strategy Smart. Other resources can be found on Tutor.com Test Prep Resources and in LearningExpress Library College Preparation.
