Backlist Goes to the Movies

One of my favorite documentaries of all time is called Mad, Hot Ballroom. It’s a story about dedicated dancers enduring hours of practice fraught with emotional peaks and valleys, epiphanies of self-discovery, and crushed hopes. Add the nail biting, edge-of-your-seat drama of a big dance competition, and you’ve got the essence of this wonderful film. Now imagine all of that with fifth graders.

This film will make you laugh and cry and probably cheer out loud. Check out the trailer above, then run, don't walk to check out Mad, Hot Ballroom.
