Back to School Isn't Just For Kids

September 05, 2012

Are you an adult who is considering the possibility of pursuing a college degree? In today's tough job market, an undergraduate or graduate degree could give you that edge you need to start a rewarding and fulfilling career. I have recently decided to return to school to complete a master's degree program I started several years ago, but had been unable to complete due to "life getting in the way." While I am a little apprehensive about the challenges involved with juggling school and life responsibilities, I know it will be rewarding to be able to say I finished what I started.

A recent article published in The Examiner offers an encouraging, interesting, and informative look at the idea of adults returning to school. The title of the article is "Adults Head Back to Class to Advance Career Options," and it is found on pages 1 and 3 in the September 1-3, 2012, Labor Day Special Edition. Among other things, the article discusses the modern convenience of online degrees, the importance of choosing the right school, and ways to pay for tuition.

To all adults out there who decide to return to school, as well as those of you who already have, I say good luck in your endeavors! And if there is any way the Library can assist you in your educational pursuits, please do not hesitate to contact us.
