Armrest For The Winter Weary

March 08, 2011

Getting tired of the snow? Me too!

I think we’re finally getting away from the grossness that is winter. As we roam closer towards spring, I find myself walking around my mother’s garden wondering what new funderful plants to grow, noticing the ever-growing water marks of the leaky pipes on my ceiling in my room, and all sorts of great spring projects and hobbies for this year.

Since I hardly have a green thumb, I went to gardening.about.com to help me decide what to plant and how to plant it. This website covers topics on gardening, flowers, vegetables and fruits, pests, and other plant related problems. We also have a lovely database, our Gardening, Landscape and Horticulture Collection, which provides information for both the hobbyist and professional alike.

For any do-it-yourself, fixer-upper projects like my ceiling, you might try the Home Improvement Reference Center. This database covers topics such home maintenance, remodeling, electrical work, plumbing, wood projects, outdoor projects, and much more. There is also the Home Improvement Collection database which discusses topics like architectural techniques, tool and material selection, zoning requirements, and even more. Both databases will lend any do-it-yourselfer the know-how to get the job done.

If you don’t have any projects you need to do, but want to browse and see what home improvement projects you may want to take up such as making your home more energy-efficient, you might try roaming our Recreation and Sports Web Resource where we provide links to subjects like Automotive, Games, Hobbies, Home and Garden, Outdoor Life, Pets, Sports, and Travel.

There is also our Hobbies and Crafts Reference Center database which will help you find a hobby with this new spring time fast coming or to refine the one you already have!

With the warmer weather approaching, these resources may be very useful in your own home or gardening projects. I know they’re going to do wonders for me!
