Are You Tired of Christmas?

December 12, 2012

By my calculations, we’ve been knee deep in Christmas for eight weeks. You could have bought a Christmas tree in the second week of October. Santa was at the mall by Halloween, and I’m sure that somewhere out there Valentine’s candy is lurking on a store shelf.

Do you feel like you’ve been fast forwarding through the holidays? We are bombarded with advertisements for sales, new cars, and the latest gadgets before the first day of fall. By the time December gets here, we’re already overwhelmed with who should get what for Christmas and what we’re feeding people on the big day. So, try to take a breath. (I know it’s hard)

Pick up a crafting book and a collection of recipes at the Library and make this Christmas a slower one. Try gifting each other with handmade items this year like ornaments, cards, or art projects, and maybe ask for help with your Christmas dinner. Potluck is the way to go, and everyone loves a special something from the heart.

Relax and enjoy your holiday this season. It’ll be over before you know it!
