April Teen Book Club
April 26, 2011
After a brief foray into the exciting world of realistic fiction, the Lee’s Summit Branch Teen Book Club is returning to its paranormal roots and reading Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater.
Shiver is the story of Grace, a 17 year old girl living in northern Minnesota, who has always felt an oddly strong connection to the wolves that live in the woods behind her house. One wolf in particular captures her attention, and when one morning a boy with the exact same eyes appears on her doorstep, she knows they must be one and the same. In human form, Sam can talk to Grace, and their connection quickly grows. But the winter cold will force Sam to change back into a wolf, and with each transformation, it becomes less likely that he’ll ever be able to return to a human state...Will Grace and Sam’s relationship be taken away from them before it can even begin?
As always, we’d love to have you join us! We will meet to discuss Shiver on Tuesday April 26th at 6:30 p.m. in the teen section of the library. Copies are currently available for checkout at the circulation desk. Happy reading!
