Is Anyone Else as Excited About the Royal Wedding as I Am?
April 27, 2011
Sure, that’s not how it will really happen, but it would be funny.
I wasn’t around for the last Royal Wedding, but I have heard stories. Everyone knows where they were when they saw Diana’s dress, and most people have judgments about said dress. I watched The Princess Diaries (yes, I admit it). How much more real life Princess Diaries can you get? I have to hand it to Kate (or Cate) Middleton. While a girl can dream, I think ultimately being a princess would be awful. Even Mia struggled with it. Being followed by the paparazzi, being a proper lady all the time, and the Queen as your in law would be too many intimidating prospects for me. Still, there is a fairy tale element to it all. I will watch all the coverage excitedly while grateful to be home in my boring life with no camera, Queens, or frilly hats.

Well...
I can't say I watched any of the coverage, but I would definitely wear some of those hats!
What wedding?
Earlier this week someone at my branch asked a group of us if we were going to get up at 3 a.m. for the wedding today. I responded with, "What wedding?" to much outcry. Am I the only person in the world NOT obsessed with the events of the royal family in Britain? In truth, I'm just clueless about what's going on in the world (which is pretty embarrassing to admit), though I was at least aware of the fact that what's-his-name was getting married (I read the headlines of all the magazines and tabloids while waiting in line at the grocery store, so I'm not completely out of the loop).
In summary, Sarah, I'm glad that you and everyone else have a special event today, but as for me, weddings make me barf. :)
Agreed
I agree that it would be quite an undertaking to become royalty, but I certainly wouldn't mind trying it out for a little while, as long as I could come back to MY life.
