Maura Isles, ME, has gone to Wyoming for a medical conference. After the conference, a group of friends decide to go skiing. En route to the ski area, the group gets caught in a blizzard, and their SUV gets stuck on a drifted mountain road.  They find refuge in a remote village - however, all the houses are dark and abandoned. Meals sit untouched, cars are parked in garages. Residents seem to have vanished. Footprints are seen in the snow betraying the presence of someone watching them. Unbeknownst to Maura, she has been reported dead. Ice Cold by Tess Gerritsen is a keep you on the edge of-your-seat suspense novel.  A great story.
