Anime Night: Chat, Chew, and YOU!
June 24, 2010
Anime (Japanese Animation) is a much celebrated format of film and television loved by adults and youth alike. Originating in Japan and gaining popularity throughout Europe and the United States (Anime is actually a French word), Anime creates magical worlds where good and evil are constantly at odds and people are not bound by the laws of reality. While some issues discussed can be over young minds, most Anime thoughtfully presents life’s true questions in a unique and fun format.
To celebrate these works of fantasy, masses of fans everywhere come together and create groups for the appreciation and study of Anime. One such group meets at the Blue Springs North branch the first Monday of every month at 6:30 PM (with the exception of holidays). During these meetings, teens between the ages of 12 and 18 eat, dress up as their favorite characters, listen to music, hear about traditional Japanese culture, and of course, watch Anime. The event provides fun, safe, and appropriate entertainment for young teens interested in this unique experience.
