Alternative History Fiction

I just finished the book Himmler's War by Robert Conroy, which is a new book in the MCPL catalog.
I thought it was excellent. It is a World War II based novel that addresses many "what if's." Among them is: What if Hitler was inadvertently killed and Himmler became the German head of state in the fallout? What if the German Generals were allowed to execute the war the way they, not Hitler, wanted? What if the Germans produced an atomic weapon before the Americans? All the key players, both Allied and Axis, are presented in this novel: Hitler, Himmler, Goering, Skorzensky, Rommel, Von Runstedt, etc. on the Axis side and FDR, Stalin, Ike, Marshall, Churchill, etc on the Allied side.
I thought this book presented realistic scenarios. It is an exciting and fast paced read for anyone interested in military and alternative history novels. Highly reccommended.
