Alien Visits Oak Grove Branch

It's true, there are aliens among us.  The photo above was taken recently at the library - and it is not the first visit from this creature from outer space. Happily, on this visit "it" stayed outside and did not venture into the building.   Wait, let's do some research  - check out Amazing Insects by Michael Chinery or The National Audobon Society Field Guide to North American Insects and Spiders to learn the true identity of this alien being.  Is it friend or foe?
