The Adventures Of Squeaker the Storytime Mouse

September 07, 2010

Squeaker can't talk right now; he just read the story, Kisses on the Wind by Lisa Moser, and is feeling a little emotional. I've been doing storytime for a long time, and I know how powerful a picture book can be. Some people think that picture books are for little kids, but Squeaker knows that they can be enjoyed at any age. Do you have a favorite? Squeaker loves My Big Dog by Janet Stevens. My favorite is Beauty and the Beast a Fairy Tale by Marie Leprince de Beaumont. The illustrations by Hilary Knight are very beautiful. The Three Questions by Jon J. Muth is another thoughtful story with a message for everyone. So, Squeaker and I would like for you to browse the childrens picture books the next time you come to the library. Maybe there is a child you can share them with, or maybe they will awaken the child within you. We know that they can touch your heart. Squeaker needs some extra cheese now, it will make him feel his old self again. Got to go for now...
