The A.D. Chronicles
January 10, 2013
Brock and Bodie Thoene have been a couple of my favorite authors for many years. A few months ago, I got ahold of their audiobook from our Library called First Light. I absolutely loved it.
It took place during the time Jesus was walking the earth. The readers were awesome, and the background music was spectacular to help enhance this wonderful audiobook. The story is mainly about Peniel, the blind beggar that Jesus later healed. Peniel in Hebrew means "I have seen the face of God," which, of course, the townsfolk were using to mock the blind man.
I just love Christian Historical Fiction books, and the A.D. Chronicles series by the Thoenes are exceptional. Second Touch is the second book in the series, and it is about the time Jesus healed the lepers in the Valley of Mak’ob (meaning Valley of Sorrows). If you want to get a great read and learn something at the same time, I highly recommend these books. There are twelve in the series, and I’m looking forward to reading the next one.
I noticed our library catalog indicates that the A.D. Chronicles series actually follows a book called Jerusalem’s Hope, the last book in a previous series. I do believe I shall read that one first and then go on to book three in the A.D. Chronicles.
What a smorgasbord of fine reading!
