14 Day Items- Oh, No!
October 13, 2010
I just had an interesting question from a patron that's been coming up a lot lately- "what's with the 14-day holds?". The Kearney staff knows it's not easy to read five items in fourteen days, especially if you've got other things to do during that same time frame. But, we wanted to let you know that there are options.
Did you know you can suspend your holds? It's really easy, and while you'll step out of the virtual line for a bit, you'll be put right back into place when you're ready. Just follow these steps:
a. Access your account on the library's catalog.
b. Choose the link that says HOLDS.
c. Click on the box to the left of each item you'd like to suspend.
d. Scroll down the screen to the heading SUSPEND HOLDS.
e. Set a start date (today, for example) and an end date, if you have one in mind.
f. Click SUSPEND SELECTED and you're done!
It's not always easy to get everything read in such a short amount of time, and we will work with you to make sure you can read them when you have the time.
