My yard is full of toads. At night, you have to step carefully to avoid squashing the little rascals. The last time I noticed this many toads was the summer of 1993 when we had the last major flood. I'm sure they are looking for higher, drier ground! There are many sizes and colors to look at.
Do you ever wonder what goes on in a little boy’s head? Could he be thinking; "They make a nice hat", "Will they scare the girls away?" Or, "maybe, just maybe, they will be my best friends for life".
I’ve been hosting our Saturday science program for several years. I learn something fascinating at each program. On February 9, the Kansas City Zoo presented Amazing Amphibians, and another great time was had by all.
