We have a great group of teens here at the Blue Springs South Branch. Join us every Monday night at 7:00 p.m. to share about your recent favorite book, and enjoy some games with new friends. Or, come visit us at our next Saturday meeting on January 22nd at 2:00 to learn how to do origami with our teacher from Japan!
Do you ever get up in the morning and find yourself wondering what on earth you are going to wear? This is a daily problem for me. And today, it was compounded by the fact that almost all my clothes are dirty, and there’s snow on the ground. So, I ended up wearing a summer dress (weird), a sweater (warm), and a pair of blue and lime green velour Chucks (fabulous) rather than regular dress shoes.
It's time to make candy! We had a great group of teens in our library recently who turned out to be great candy makers, and they made lots and lots of candy. It's really as simple as melting some almond bark and chocolate, and start dipping. So, get a candy making book at your library, and make some candy with friends and family this holiday season.
The Bookies from the Blue Springs North Branch felt like professional judges as they were fully entertained by the students from Sunny Vale Middle School. The Bookies judged the SVMS first annual "BookWalk" contest at Barnes and Noble.
