Teen Book Talk

Hannah Baker had been bullied, picked on, and had enough.  With one last attempt to tell those around her what was really going on in her life, she recorded a set of tapes to explain the thirteen reasons why she decided to end her own life.  Clay gets them and he can't stop listening to Hannah tell her story, wondering why he's gotten them, and why he's

Teen Book Club at Raytown

The Raytown Teen Book Club met at the Raytown Branch at 3:15 on June 8. The book discussion for June was Revenge of the Witch by Joseph Delaney. We had an attendance of nine. Anime Night: Chat, Chew, and YOU!

Anime (Japanese Animation) is a much celebrated format of film and television loved by adults and youth alike. Strong Spirit Sails the Seven Seas Solo at Sixteen

I’m a little embarrassed to admit this, but I have realized lately that I am one of those people who are completely out-of-touch with most of what’s happening in the world.  I don’t watch the news, I rarely read the news; in fact, I get most of my info from Yahoo! headlines or from what I hear around the library.

The End of Harry Potter

Goosebumps, I got goose bumps, I'm not going to lie when I saw the new Harry Potter preview. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows arrives in November and the new trailer has just surfaced. Although, I have mixed feelings about the last two movies, on the one hand I’m very excited, on the other I’m a little sad. It didn't take me long to jump on the Harry Potter bandwagon. I started reading the books in early 2000 before the last three books had come out. I was immediately hooked. I'm so enraptured by these books, I even remember where I was the first time I really looked at them.
