Come joinMrs.Turkey for a Thanksgiving celebration turkey-style on November 23, 2010 at 10:00 am at Blue Springs North. Singing, stories, and loads of fun for everyone!
Olivia has a turkey on her head! This was the craft that the kids made during storytime last week at the Grain Valley branch. Bring your little ones to our storytime Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m., and enjoy stories, crafts and songs.
Every Monday and Saturday mornings at 10:00 a.m., we have Laptime at the Red Bridge Branch. Laptime is a time for parents or grandparents and children (3 and under) to come and learn colors, shapes, animals, songs and much, much more!
We start by identifying an animal; where they live, what noise they make, and what they eat. After we’ve identified the animal, we open with the song "If You’re Happy and You Know It."
Attention all children and parents… Guess who’s coming to town and will be at the Blue Springs North Branch? That’s right! It’s Santa Claus and he’s bringing Mrs. Claus with him. They will be reading holiday stories to the children and afterward, Santa will be available for all the children to tell him what they want for Christmas. So parents, be sure to bring your cameras along and take pictures of your children with Santa and Mrs. Claus. You don’t want to miss out on this fun and exciting visit before they return to the North Pole to prepare for the holidays!
Santa Claus does exist and he, along with Mrs. Claus, will be at the Weston Branch on Monday, December 13, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. The Claus Family will be making a special trip to the library to share holiday stories and to find out who has been naughty and who has been nice. Parents, remember to bring your cameras as Santa’s lap will be available for sitting after the story. For more information, call us at 816-640-2874. All of us here at the Weston Branch wish you a Happy Holidays!
Santa arrived at the Dearborn Branch with his guitar and familiar holiday music Tuesday, the 9th. The jolly man in the red suit got almost 40 peoples' toes tapping with familiar tunes and the chance to sing along. There was also an opportunity for kids to have their picture taken with Santa. With a twinkle in his eye, Santa said he knew who had been naughty or nice!

Christmas is the time for giving and receiving. Squeaker was so happy for Cooper when his good friend, Madalyn, brought him Mr. Grinch at storytime. Cooper and Madalyn met at storytime, and now they always sit together during the books, movies, and craft times on Thursday mornings. Squeaker tells me that they are really good listeners and like the funny parts the best. Storytime is a great place to make new friends and have fun.
Thanks to Madalyn and Cooper for comming every week to see Squeaker and enjoy storytime together.
