How to Use the Advanced Search Feature to Find What You Need
Sometimes finding just what you’re looking for at the library is like searching for a needle in a haystack. A catalog search can sometimes return 100’s of records. Recently, I was searching for books related to the theme of “adventure” to use during storytime. Below are the steps I took. Following these steps may help you find what you’re looking for!
What should I read next? – When your favorite authors can’t write fast enough or heaven forbid, they die, you’re set adrift in an ocean of books with no compass to guide you. Don’t despair! Mid-Continent has great tools on our website to navigate you safely to your next favorite author.
Traveling can be a lot of fun. It gives you a chance to visit places you may have only been able to read about, or visit distant relatives. This fall my son was forced to drive back to his college in Tennessee by himself. It is a twelve hour drive with no one to talk to and little to occupy your mind, but thoughts of how long you have been on the road and how long you still have to drive.
MCPL offer so many wonderful services and databases. But sometimes, I think we forget that some customers may not no know about one of most valuable resources. That is our online catalog. With your card number and password (your birthdate), you are able to place holds on the items your interested in.
