Get Healthy Chamber Challenge 2012

The Smithville Area Chamber of Commerce is challenging all of its members along with their family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers to participate in the Get Healthy Chamber Challenge in 2012. We all know the importance of being healthy and the impact it has on our lives and our family’s lives. With small changes to our diet and regular exercise, we can lower our blood pressure, combat depression, reduce the risk of osteoporosis, and increase our heart health. Shedding a few pounds in the process is always very uplifting as well.

9th Annual Northland Ethnic Festival

The 9th Annual Northland Ethnic Festival will take place on Saturday, March 31st from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Park Hill South High School in Riverside, MO. Bring the family and experience culture from around the world at this free event featuring authentic ethnic food, displays, arts and crafts, family history and genealogy help. Music and dance will be performed throughout the day and a beautiful international fashion show to complete the day's festivities.

Smithville R-II Educational Foundation's Second Annual Table Tennis Tournament

Please join the Smithville Educational Foundation for our Second Annual Table Tennis Tournament to be held at the Smithville High School. Last year’s tournament generated nearly $2,000.00 for student scholarships and teacher grants. This year’s tournament will be held Saturday, March 24, 2012 @ 6:00 p.m. Come root for your favorite team, and support our local Smithville students and teachers.

The Easter Bunny is Coming to Smithville!

Hey everyone, come join in on the Annual Chamber of Commerce Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 7, 2012 @ 10:00 a.m. The Easter egg hunt will be held at Heritage Park, near downtown Smithville. There will be two age categories for the "egg collectors" and a lot of great Easter surprises inside the eggs. The highlight of the event is the appearance of the Easter Bunny, which is always a great treat for the kids!

Storytime in the Park and Storybook Trail

Come join us for a storytime in the park. Then enjoy the Storybook Trail sponsored by the Grain Valley Parks and Recreation. This will be held on  April 18th at 10 a.m. at the Armstrong Park Gazebo in Grain Valley. This is a great event for all to enjoy.

During the Storybook Trail time frame, a fun story will be displayed along the trail. As you go along the trail, you can stop at each page to find out what happens next. Families are encouraged to get out and go read with Mother Nature.
