What are you doing at the library today? I am a substitute library clerk. This fall I will be presenting storytime on Tuesday and Wednesday at 10:00 am.
How long have you worked at the library? Three years. I started as a page and moved up to sub.
What is the best part of your job? Definitely the customer interaction. I love helping and visiting with our patrons.
We at the library would like to send a shout out to our amazing Pages (those workers you see diligently putting away all the books checked out, used for reference questions, or just plain out of order). A few of our pages are off to do other things with their lives, either for the short-term or the long-term, and we appreciate everything they have done for us during their time here… as well as everything done by those we’re lucky enough to have staying!
The Day There Were Three Sarahs at Blue Springs North!
Once upon a time, in a kingdom nearby, there was a lovely library, it had everything a reader might want. This wonderful place had thousands of books, movies, and music CDs. There were fun book clubs, storytimes, and Anime movie nights. Sometimes there were even lions and tigers (no bears), oh my! This special place had everything---except a third Sarah:{
I have an unusual educational background from most librarians. Unlike many of my counterparts, who studied english or history, my bachelor’s degree is in marine biology. Of course, there are not many seas out here in the Mid-West, so why I am here in Missouri is a very long and boring story. However, studying to be a marine biologist gave me a love of research. I get such a thrill when I am looking at a problem, and with a little help from books and the computer, I find the answer. This has translated to my career as a librarian.
My name is Peyton and I've worked at the Lone Jack Branch for a little less than a year now! I've always loved reading, and have enjoyed getting to know many new books via Mid-Continent. Here are five books I love.
My name is Connie, and I work at the Lone Jack Branch. I have always loved books, and I like a variety of books. By enjoying a variety, it helps me to suggest authors to all ages. Here are five books I love.
My name is Nellie. I like reading books that stay with me for the rest of my life, and although I give contemporary literature a fair try, classics are still my favorites. Some of the dustiest books on the shelf are the best. Here are five books I love.
My name is Kathy, and I’ve worked for Mid-Continent for 25 years. I can truly say that time flies when you’re having fun! Here are five books I love: two all-time favorites, and three that I’ve read and enjoyed more recently.
