Have you seen the large cornucopia in Liberty? It sits on the corner of Brown and Kent Street. I’m describing the library! In dictionary.com, the definition of a cornucopia is "an abundant, overflowing supply."
Although the library may not have the traditional look of a cornucopia, we are just that -- an endless source of knowledge and materials to fill all of your needs. Come check us out!
The completely renovated North Independence Branch at 317 West 24 Highway will reopen Monday, December 20. In preparation for the reopening, the temporary North Independence Branch will close on December 6. The new library will be the largest in the MCPL system and feature many new services and amenities.
The staff of the Excelsior Springs Branch would like to wish you a Happy New Year. The branch will be closed on December 31st and January 1st. It will be open again on January 3rd. For more information, contact the Excelsior Springs Branch at 816-630-6721.
February is Library Lover’s Month, and what better way to celebrate than at your local library! I wonder if people really know all of the resources available to them at their local libraries. Below is just a small sample of what is waiting for you at the library.
As a gardener, I love observing people's gardens as I walk each day. The colors, movement, and scents feed my mind and spirit when I'm walking in the neighborhood around the North Independence Branch. I even glory in the progress of people's vegetable gardens. It's amazing how fast some vegetables mature! I'm sure the neighbors aren't aware that others probably get as much pleasure from their gardens as they do--and without all the work of weeding and watering!
