MCPL's Research Databases are awesome! In addition to helping with "need to know" information, these sites offer interesting and fun information. One of my favorite sites is Global Road Warrior. Besides the information you would expect, like geography, government, economy, and climate, I can find out about their culture, holidays, and religion.
I was looking over the library’s databases and started looking into America the Beautiful. It has so much information to choose from. I've learned quite a bit about the different states that make up our America. There is a map you can click onto that shows various facts, pictures, the history of the state, geology, culture, and much more. It is an enjoyable database. So, if you are interested in our America, this is for you.
This is the question my friends and I begin to ask each other in September as we begin to anticipate our return to Haiti. It's that time of year again. and in addition to making my sixth trip to Haiti, I'll be heading to El Salvador for the first time in January.
