A few months ago, I wrote a blog about Zumba. It is a Latin-based dance fitness craze that is sweeping the nation. I have been going to classes pretty much weekly for about a year now, and I wanted to check-in and update how things are going.
Like most of you out there, I am very excited that "Spring has finally Sprung," as they say (or maybe normal people don’t say that, just my crazy family, I’m not sure). However, while I am very excited about the change of seasons and the warmer weather that is hopefully here to stay, I am also embarrassed to admit that we are already four months into 2013 and my New Year’s resolution to get in better shape has been abandoned, just like so many years before.
I found an excellent exercise group for moms! Stroller Strides is the group through www.fit4mom.com. You work-out with your kid, and they cheer you on while they sit in your jogging stroller. The exercise class works you out at your own pace. I enjoy this particular exercise because my child motivates me to work-out. I’ve tried at least 6 various gyms and fitness outlets, but I feel this is the one that will stick.
I try to maintain good health habits – eating right, exercising, all that nonsense. In the summer, I also love to jog at the high school track across the street from my house. All of my fellow exercisers laboring around the track have earbuds in their ears. I always wonder what they are listening to.
