Would you like to enter a realm of brave knights and damsels in distress? Are your prince and princess party clothes gathering dust in your royal closet? Teddy Bear Tea!

We're throwing a special tea party for you and your favorite plush friends! On Saturday, April 21st at 2:00 p.m. (that's this Saturday!), join us for a Teddy Bear Tea party. Bring along your favorite bear, bunny, or any other plush friend, and feel free to dress in your party best!

You and your plush pal will be treated to teddy bear storytime, have a chance to introduce your friend to all the others at show-and-tell, and make a few beary fun crafts to take home. And I hope your teddy bear is ready for a challenge, because we will also have some teddy bear team games!

Self-Starters and That “Can Do” Attitude

On Monday, April 30, 2012 at 7:00 p.m., the Edgerton Branch will present Beginning Knitting with Maurita Buhl. Maurita first exhibited that Can-Do attitude when, at the age of ten, she found a book that explained the basics of knitting. Using this book to learn, she has been knitting ever since and is now known as "the Fastest Fingers in Missouri."

July Blood Drive at Boardwalk

On Thursday, July 5th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the Boardwalk Branch will be hosting a blood drive for the Red Cross.

The Red Cross does not need blood— PATIENTS do. Every two seconds, someone in America gets a blood transfusion; Every TWO SECONDS! Five million patients will need blood this year. Please help us to help patients in need by signing up for your appointment right here at the Boardwalk Branch to have your blood drawn.

Summer Fun

We're winding down Oak Grove storytimes for the summer. Our last ones are May 22nd and May 23rd. Storytime will resume September 4th. While we won't have storytime during the summer, there is still plenty of fun to be had. Our Summer Reading Program begins May 21st and will continue until July 31st. During this time, we have scheduled many fun programs and activities. Go to our Events Page to take a look and register for programs.
