This is Madness March Madness: Monday, March 12th @ 6:30 p.m. Are you absolutely nuts about basketball? Is March madness the best time of the year or what? We think so. Join us as we discuss the year in college basketball, check out some great highlights, and of course, fill out our brackets for the NCAA tournament. It’s going to be an awesome night.

We had a blast partying it up like royalty, reading some books fit for a queen, and celebrating with our special guests: Cinderella, Rapunzel, and Ariel! There is nothing more exciting than heading to the Independence Event Center to see a Maverick’s game. You just never know what’s going to happen. Those Mavericks are tough, and they mean business when they get on the ice. They also mean business when it comes to reading.
In exactly ten days, ten hours, fifty-three minutes, and forty-nine, forty-eight, forty-seven… seconds, this year’s biggest movie (in my completely unofficial and totally biased opinion) will be starting at theaters across the Central Daylight Time zone. Can you believe it?
On March 26th at 6:30 p.m., Kearney celebrates American Girls! Here’s a clue about the doll we’ll feature at this year’s party – the official fish of her home state is the humuhumunukunukuapua'a. Have you guessed yet? That’s right, it’s Kanani and she’s from Hawaii!! Are you ready for a luau?
Disgusting, disturbing discoveries await you in this icky program! We’ll be experiencing yucky demonstrations and experiments, as well as making slime and snot bubbles. Along the way, we’re even going to learn some fun facts to gross out Mom and Dad. Did you know, by the way, that adult elephants poop enough daily to equal the weight of a 10 year old boy? So, if you’re geared up for even more gooey, slimy, sloppy fun, stop by the library for It’s Gross.
This Saturday, March 24th at 2:00 p.m., we will be having, without a doubt, one of the most awesome teen library programs ever, anywhere, in all of library history!!! I speak of Hunger Games Havoc, a giant celebration of all things Hunger Games in honor of the release of the movie this Friday.
The birds are singing, spring flowers are popping up, and the grass is turning green. You probably have been getting a lot of catalogs from the nursery and seed companies. You can't wait to get the old lawn mower out, get the oil changed, and the blades sharpened. You probably have a flower garden all planned out.
Come spin a yarn with us at the Dearborn Branch for the Yarn Bee on April 12th at 1:00 p.m.! Bring your yarn projects and enthusiasm to work on crafts in a relaxing, social setting. Even if you've never picked up a yarn craft or you are an aficionado, this group is for YOU! We'll learn from each other and have fun at the same time.
