The Grandview Branch is pleased to host Scott and Tanya Smith and the Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge again this summer. Turpentine Creek is located in Eureka Springs, AR and is a refuge for abandoned “big cats.” The Smiths’ program will focus on the daily life of the big cats and will be accompanied by a chance to see a couple of the big cats that live at the refuge up close. Next Monday morning at 9:30, the Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge is coming to the South Independence Branch and they are bringing a couple of their massive predators. I missed their visit last year, but I heard they brought both a tiger and a panther. Beat that Anime Club!
June 5th was the annual MCPL Edgerton Branch Frog Jumping Contest. Frogs large and small competed for title of the Fastest Frog in Platte County. The winner was a Spring Peeper handled by Sarah Addison.

Boy Scouts Horsemanship Merit Badge will be held in two parts. Part 1 will be at the Colbern Road Branch on Sat., Aug. 6 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. Part 2 will be held at the Sunset Trails Horse Stables located in Lee's Summit the following Friday, August 13 from 6 pm to 8 pm. Wear Class "A" for the library session, but Class “B” for the stable session.
Pickard a Mystery to Guests at Antioch Book Discussion Group
