The Mid-Continent Public Library offers a variety of programs for the whole family. These programs are free or with a small cost for hands on materials. Moms, do you need to plan an outing for the children? Go to the library, pick up books, and take in a puppet show, juggler, or a clown. Teens are you bored? Check out the teen programs like Anime Movie Night. Those hot summer days don't have to be spent only at the pool.

For years, I've toyed, off and on, with having a budget. Recently, I have taken the very serious step of incorporating it into every facet of my life. After reading a long list of self-help books on financial success, saving money, etc., I have a grip on most of the spending.
Working at the library has opened my eyes to so many things. Who knew they had so many movies and CD's? I've found so many movies here that are practically new...no need for Redbox or Blockbuster anymore! Many people think the library isn't meant for teenagers, they need to rethink! FREE internet access, FREE movies, FREE CD's....Its practically MADE for teenagers! I encourage all young adults to come check it out!

Living within a super tight budget has definitely been eased by MCPL’s continually expanding collections and access to WorldCat. I can acquire the newest books, audio selections, and DVDs. There are formats for any situation, and I always keep a wide variety in my personal MCPL collection. Would I like to listen to a CD while I’m driving around, doing my errands? Perhaps, I might take a book or the magazine I wanted to browse through to my dentist’s visit. So many choices!
