Did you receive a new gadget as a present over the holiday season, such as an iPad, Nook or iPod? Then, come to your local library for music and audiobooks. If you received an e-reader, you can download eBooks and audiobooks. Go to our home page, and then click on Books, Movies, Music at the top of the screen. From that page, navigate down the left-hand side to Downloadable Audiobooks.
MCPL No Longer Purchasing eBooks from HarperCollins
At this time Mid-Continent Public Library has decided to stop purchasing HarperCollins eBooks due to their new eBook lending model. This will not affect the purchasing of other formats of HarperCollins materials, such as print and audiobooks. MCPL will continue to purchase eBooks from all other publishers available through Overdrive.
I like doing crossword puzzles. I’m not great at it. I’ve tried some of the New York Times Puzzles and have been puzzled by words in the descriptions that I have never heard, but still I like working various ones. If anybody were to tell me that I am wasting my time, there are many research papers on Alzheimer’s and memory loss that recommend puzzles as a way to keep one’s brain sharp and active.
I just received an eReader as a gift from my husband. I was reluctant to test out this new way of reading books because I was convinced I would miss the tactile feel of a book in my hot little hands. I couldn’t have been more wrong! ePublishing is the hottest trend around and romance is the leading genre, outselling more than any other combined.
