The Grain Valley Stitchers made 15 minute table runners at our Tuesday meeting. Despite the road conditions, we still had a few ladies attend with the fabric needed to make the runners. A good time was had by all. Check with the Grain Valley Branch to see what we will be making next month. We meet every third Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.
This week’s Storytime Crew had a great time listening to Ms. Sandy read The Snow Show: With Chef Kelvin. Afterwards, they created their own indoor snowmen. These were created using coffee creamer containers. I provided the containers, and yes, it was a lot of creamer to drink, but for a worthy cause.
Inspired by the Japanese craft trend, amigurumi are little knitted animal friends that can be made for children. Little knitted Creatures by Amy Gaines contains 26 amigurumi patterns, each one cuter than the next, perfect for the knitting grandmother or aunt to create. Whether you choose the squirrel, ladybug, hedgehog or whale, creating one of these is knitting love.
Scrapbooking may be the perfect way to handle staying inside on these snowy days that we’ve been having! I was first introduced to scrapbooking when my son was in Boy Scouts and I had accumulated photos of that part of his life. Now that he is in high school, I’m trying to figure out how to organize photos chronicling his life so I’ll be ready for a graduation party.
