Did you know that March is National Frozen Food Month? This month is set aside to raise awareness in consumers of the convenience, quality, and nutritional benefits of frozen foods. I was intrigued with the thought of cooking meals ahead. I went to the cookbooks at the Liberty Branch, and I found a new book called, The Everything Freezer Meals Cookbook by Candace Anderson.
Are you looking for a delicious cake recipe? The book, United Cakes of America by Warren Brown, is not just an ordinary cookbook. It offers a unique take on classic desserts from all 50 states, plus Puerto Rico and Washington D.C. One of my favorite magazines and series of cookbooks are the publications by Taste of Home. Last Saturday, I attended the Taste of Home Cooking School and Home Expo in Atchison, Kansas. It was a lot of fun! Tickets are usually $15, and it was well worth the small amount of money. You can find dates for a few more upcoming Missouri shows here.
I’ve recently been diagnosed with hypertension or high blood pressure. I had an allergic reaction to the medication that I was given. After this and several health concerns that my husband has for himself, we decided to try a no oil Vegan diet. We realized when we did this that this would be more than a "lose some weight and then go back to what we used to eat" diet. This would be a life change.
Are you looking for a fast and easy diabetic cookbook? I found a book called 15-Minute Diabetic Meals by Nancy S. Hughes. It has over 200 great recipes that are ready to eat in 15 minutes or less. This cookbook is for anyone who is looking for nutritious, delicious, and healthy recipes.
It seems like I always bring the same few dishes to family gatherings, so this cookbook caught my eye and has motivated me to try something new. In the What Can I Bring? Cookbook, author Anne Byrn has put together over 200 easy-to-tote dishes for parties, picnics, potlucks, barbecues, and any get together.
I do not like to cook! However, cooking on the grill is a little more fun.
I found an excellent book with many wonderful grilling recipes. It’s called Taste of Home Grill It! This book offers over 300 recipes taken from the Taste of Home magazine. It contains many photographs and helpful tips, including nutritional information for anyone trying to stay on a healthy diet.
