Latte, Macchiato, Café con panna, espresso...Are you keeping up with the trend? When visiting your local coffee shop, smiling at your favorite barista, do you feel like a kid in a candy shop; you just don’t know when to quit?
It’s yet another early morning in your world, and you just can’t for the life of you function without that sacred cup of coffee. I know the drill; I live it every day. Have you ever sat down, taken a sip, and wondered where on earth that treasured coffee really came from? Yeah, me neither.
Ah, coffee, one of my most favorite things in the world. I absolutely love, love, love it! I began drinking coffee at a young age, though my parents and grandparents would give me a little coffee with a lot of milk and some sugar. As I got older, I cut way back on the additives and savored the pureness of coffee more. There is something about the smell of fresh grounds and the sound of a percolating pot that is so soothing to me.
I grew up watching my parents drink coffee every day, either black or with cream. Those were the only two choices. Then, a few years back, the Starbucks craze caught on, and you see people everywhere drinking all kinds of coffee all the time. Not just with cream, but a "Grande Latte" with extra foam (whatever that is, I don't drink coffee). But who decided that coffee was the new big fad and that "everyone everywhere" needed it?
