The Latest From Your Friendly Neighborhood Book Club
Hello, my name is Jennifer and I am in charge of North Oak's Book Club called A Novel Idea. This week we will be discussing Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World by Vicki Myron. The most interesting aspect of this book is the fact that, despite the title, it is not your typical "cat" book. It is, in fact, a book about a small Iowa town called Spencer, and how one cat could change the whole town's outlook on itself and its place in the world.
After a brief foray into the exciting world of realistic fiction, the Lee’s Summit Branch Teen Book Club is returning to its paranormal roots and reading Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater.
The Grain Valley Book Club will meet on June 6, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. We will discuss our May novel White Dolphin Blues. Our new novel for June will be The Ghost At The Table by Suzanne Berne.
Our next selection for the Riverside Evening Book Club is The Rich Part of Life, by Jim Kokoris. A young boy‘s life is changed when is father wins the lottery. Teddy is an eleven-year-old boy forced into maturity before his time.
