What is your favorite genre of book? Come and be a part of our Teen Book Club. Read one book per month, and then come and join us for lively discussions. Refreshments served. For November, we are reading:
Jennifer leads our own discussion group at 7 p.m. on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. It is open to everyone.
I'm Linda and I help our community book groups. When I started working with book clubs, I was told no two book clubs are alike. This is so true, except for one thing: the enjoyment of sharing good books with friends. I will update in a later blog on some common and not so common choices some of my groups are reading.
On November 15, the Camden Point Book Talk members met to discuss book Crow Lake by Mary Lawson, which was set in the rural “badlands” of northern Ontario. This is a story told by Kate Morrison of her life experiences, who with her three siblings was orphaned young. It details how the sacrifices of her two older brothers kept the family together.
The Teen Book Club will be discussing Zoobreak by Gordon Korman this month. It’s the story of a group of young friends who conspire to rescue a pet monkey from an evil zookeeper.
Come join the Blue Springs North Bookies as they meet at the Barnes and Noble Bookstore to judge the First Annual Sunnyvale "BookWalk" Contest. What fun we’ll have as we are entertained by the Sunnyvale Middle School Book Club. Participants will select a literary hero or heroine, dress in character, and entertain us--leaving everyone begging for more Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 1:00 pm. Be there or be square.
