Children's Book Club (formally known as the Juvenile Book Club):

Teen Book Club:

Adult Book Club:

Monday's Musings On a Mystery

Many at the Monday Mystery Book Club had heard talk of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo being very violent and graphic. After reading it, they felt the graphic violence was contained within 3-4 scenes. The rest of the book was a good read. Larsson writes well. Blomkvist is self-absorbed and not likeable.

Mysterious Thoughts On a Thursday

Thursday’s Mystery Book Club enjoyed the history contained within The English Assassin by Daniel Silva. This book was an eye opener into Switzerland’s neutrality during WWII.

The Grain Valley Branch has a book club that meets at 7:00 p.m. the first Monday of each month.

For the month of July, we are reading The Chatham School Affair by Thomas H. Cook. We look forward to getting together each month, and would love for anyone interested to join us.

Let's Talk

The Raytown Branch Adult Book Group will be reading The Bone Garden by Tess Gerritsen for their August meetings. Julia Hamill makes a horrifying discovery on the grounds of her new home in rural Massachusetts: a skull buried in the rocky soil-human, female, and according to the eye of a medical examiner, it is scarred with the unmistakable marks of murder.

The Raytown Library Adult Book Group meets the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. and the third Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Our groups usually last from 60 to 90 minutes.
