Why do we read?

My son challenged me the other day. Really, he's always been a challenge, but I'll save those stories for another day. He asked me "Why do you read?" My first reaction was to tell him for entertainment, of course. Nothing wrong with that. But he wants to go deeper. "What was the last book that you read?" Camden Point Book Club

Titles discussed in the monthly Book Club are chosen approximately a year to a year and one-half in advance, selected primarily from the BookTalk catalog supplied by the Adult Services Department with a few titles obtained in-system.   Once a title has been determined, a list of discussion questions is compiled as well as any interesting relative information touched on in the book.
