Pickard a Mystery to Guests at Antioch Book Discussion Group
On Monday, July 26at 7:00 PM at the Antioch Branch, special guest, Nancy Pickard will speak to the mystery book club. Author of the Jenny Cain and Marie Lightfoot mystery series, Ms. Pickard’s previous novel, The Virgin of Small Plains, won the Agatha Award (2006).
If you like to read and talk about books, come to our book club! Everyone is welcome. We meet the second Tuesday of the month at 10:00 A.M. Our selections are eclectic and provide for a wide variety of tastes.
The Raytown Teen Book Club met at the Raytown Branch at 3:15 on June 8. The book discussion for June was Revenge of the Witch by Joseph Delaney. We had an attendance of nine. We started the group out with writing their names in Greek. Denise Bozikis, our very own library staff employee, was a special guest speaker. She is a native from Greece.
If you are looking for a congenial group to discuss interesting books, you are welcome to join our book club. We meet the second Tuesday of each month at 10:00 am. Our selection for July is Bridge of Sighs by Richard Russo*.
If you enjoy mysteries and love to talk about them, then Mystery Loves Company at the Lee's Summit branch would love for you to join us on the first Wednesday of the month. We discuss a different mystery each month and whether we liked or hated it, there is always a great discussion about it.

Grain Valley Book Club is held on the first Monday of each month. We just finished the book, Civil War's First Blood by James Denny and John Bradbury. Its the story of Missouri during the years 1854-1861.
