Did you know that library users who become physically unable to visit their local branch may still receive library services? Mail delivery of library materials and information is free-of-charge to MCPL residents.
Have you heard that MCPL provides materials through the mail to patrons who are physically unable to go the Library? This service, known as Library-by-Mail, is a great way to make sure that we're able to provide access to all our customers. But who processes these requests and maintains the LBM accounts? That would be Carma Anderson, the effervescent woman in charge of managing everyone signed up for the service.
This is one of the services of Mid-Continent Public Library that many people may not know about, and I think it’s great! It’s for customers who can’t get to one of our branches because they can’t drive or have health problems, either permanent or temporary. They also have to live in the MCPL district, which covers most of Jackson, Clay, or Platte counties.
