Summer Reading Program Fund
Each year, Mid-Continent Public Library provides young people the chance to earn prizes while building reading skills over the summer. The Summer Reading Program has helped encourage a love of reading in over 500,000 kids and teens since it began in 1975. During that time, kids in Clay, Jackson, and Platte counties have read over 30,000,000 books!
Kids and teens who read during the summer retain skills developed during the school year, and enter the next school year better prepared to succeed. Summer reading also helps instill a love for reading that lasts a lifetime.
You can help ensure the Summer Reading Program continues for years to come by contributing to the Summer Reading Program Fund. The fund is located at the Truman Heartland Community Foundation. Your gift will help keep summer reading a part of the lives of kids all across our community. Thank you for your support.
