A Positive Genealogy Story

Mid-Continent has held a special place for many years in my life. As a teenager attending William Chrisman High School, I would get books for school projects. In my early 20s I started genealogy study in the little basement area of North Independence Branch. I remember the day I found my 3X great grandfather's name in the immigrant books on a tiny shelf downstairs.

I have loved having access to all the historical data and have grown as a researcher as the genealogy library grew into its own wing at North Independence and now to a World Class building for research. I am now a Professional Genealogist and a proud volunteer at Midwest Genealogy Center and would not be where I am today without the amazing staff over the years that I have worked with at MCPL.
